Next Steps to Complete the Website:
1. Put together a list of restaurants that are serving sustainably caught fish.
2. Highlight what types of fish that are typically served and sold are caught unsustainably.
3. Add a reward system to our website for the public.
4. Get our survey out to the people who used our website and gather data form they survey to make changes to the website.
Next Steps for Society:
We want people to be conscious of their choices when it comes to eating fish. They can do this by using our website as a resource when they choose what fish restaurants to eat at and what fish they should eat at those restaurants. We also want people to use our suggested list of sustainably caught fish as a guide to making choices on their own, for instance when they are shopping at the supermarket. Our goal is to eventually eliminate people eating unsustainably caught fish and hurting the fish population. We believe this can be achieved if everyone makes responsible decisions and our website will help them do so.
Our Project in a Year:
By the summer of 2021, our goal is to have a 10% decrease in the amount of unsustainably caught fish in the fishing industry. Additionally, we hope that the 10% decrease can be seen in fish offered for purchase in supermarkets as well. Lastly, we hope that another result of our efforts is that the restaurants that are doing the right thing will be successful.
